From Monday Blues to Monday Hues

Mondays are usually considered to be the most boring day of the week with office and work hours starting with a bang and pressure of work and bills that left us last Friday seems to have come back like a burdern thats seems heavier than last week. Also the hangover from weekend parties or getaways doesn't seem to go away. It seems to take a mammoth effort to get the day started and to get through the day. For me , it has been the opposite. Mondays has become my favourite day of the week where I get most things done or sterted. Much of that boils down to the essence of chasing my next dream. Because I am almost everytime very clear about the next dream I want to achieve, the excitement and thrill to go through the process to me is more intoxicating so to speak. Dont get me wrong I do love weekend parties and travel andd get aways but I do so more to network and build business. For me family trips and excurtions are usually on week days where the crowd is less and I get great deals for hotel stays and more personalised services. It is this paradime shift that has made my Mondays like Mid week rather than the start of the week. For me Monday actually doesn't start on Monday, it starts from Sunday evening. Every Sunday evening I sort of have a me time. I close myself in my office or a quiet place with a pen pencil and calculator and sort of review the week that has gone by and look ahead to the week coming up. I write the list of things that are need to be done for the coming week and most often I do not acomplish them all. But of all the things I write down I ask myself one question. Whichh is one thing that I would like to see accomplished. From the list I choose the one that seems to be important and mostly a part of my dream and I do everything to accomplish it in the first three days of the week. The rest of the things in my life is usually routine work where I have automated most of the processes and that requires little of my attention. In that way I become very clear about where I need to channalise my focus and energy. Therefore if you are having issues with clarity and direction on how to start your mondays, I reckon get your dream right and in place and take a couple of hours out every Sunday evening to recap and to review what you would want to be done. May be you can go through the points below which are some of the things I go through while planning my week. 1. Identify what worring us and eliminate it. This is probably the biggest reason which holds people back from growth and creativity. There is always something the seems ot be bothering us which , subconciously we try not to focus on. It could be a financial issue, it could be a relationship issue , it coul dbe a issue a work place or health issue. Many a times those issues can easily be tackled by thinking it through and to make a concious decision about it, not emotionally but practically (I would be taking a session on how to take a decision). If the problem is huge and out of our control, it is better that we do not focus on it anyway. It is surpprizing how not focusing on problems that are out of our control helps us to be happy and propels us about growth. One of my friend Ravi , was always worried about what the worrld is coming to. Thhe politics, the coronavirus, the conflict in middle east. I understand that if we are in a middle of pademic or war zone it is another matter to focus on survival. But if these issues are not affecting the actions that we can take as individuals to propel our growth, it is useles to think, talk or focus on it. Having realised my friend started to tthink and focus on what he can do and things that are under his control. Not to mention that his overall performance in work and life drastically improved very soon. 2. To be very clear about our dreams. It is critical for us to be able to know exactly what we are chasing. When an army goes into a battefield its objective is always clear. It is very simple to have the clarity of dreams in our lives to be able to know what we want. One we know what we want we say yes to the things that will helps us to to reach it and it becomes easier to say no to the things that doesnt. Learning how to say no is probaly one of the trikiest skill sett to learn and when we start to practice it we would find more peace within ourselves. In knowing which dream to achieve and fulfill there are very pratical ways to go about it which I have covered in details in my Free lesson on Udemy and in my Book 'Pratical Skill to Achieve Dreams'. 3. To have a definit action plan to achieve that dream The action plann is everything that you would want to achieve your dream. Without this our whole planning becomes futile. There are some easy ways to get to the action planning stage. It all involves writing down those action plans and having the descipline to go through it. Descipline is the freedom we need to fulfil our dreams. Being free, in terms of habits etc infact leads us to bondage and slavery of time and resources. How do you tacke your mondays. I would love to hear from you. Feel free to comment. I hope that you have been, in some way, impacted by this sharing. Please feel free to share this with other friends who can benifit out of it. As always wsh you the best. Cheers Vishal Tupper
